One Tool Among Many

The Korn Ferry 360

What others see that you cannot.

The Korn Ferry 360 is a multi-rater leadership assessment that gathers structured feedback from the people who work most closely with a leader — peers, direct reports, and managers — and maps it against six core competency clusters. The result is a detailed picture of how a leader is actually experienced, not just how they intend to show up.

What It Is

A Multi-Dimensional View of Leadership Effectiveness

Developed by Korn Ferry — one of the world's leading organizational consulting firms — the KF 360 is grounded in decades of research on what distinguishes high-performing leaders from the rest. It is not a personality test. It is a competency-based feedback instrument that surfaces the gap between a leader's self-perception and how they are actually experienced by those around them.

In Amanda's coaching engagements, the KF 360 is used as a starting point for honest conversation — not as a verdict, but as data. The report becomes a map for the coaching work ahead.

How It Works

1

Rater Selection

The leader identifies peers, direct reports, and their own manager to participate as raters.

2

Anonymous Survey

Raters complete a structured online survey rating the leader across six competency clusters.

3

Report Generation

A detailed report is produced showing scores, patterns, and verbatim comments from raters.

4

Debrief with Amanda

Amanda walks the leader through the findings in a dedicated debrief session, then integrates insights into the coaching engagement.

What It Measures

Six Core Leadership Competency Clusters

The KF 360 organizes feedback across six clusters, each containing multiple specific competencies. Together they provide a comprehensive picture of leadership effectiveness — and reveal where the greatest development opportunities lie.

01

Thought Leadership

Strategic agility, innovation, and the ability to anticipate what is coming and position the organization accordingly. Leaders who score here think beyond the immediate and build for the future.

02

Results Orientation

Drive, accountability, and the capacity to execute. This cluster surfaces whether a leader moves from intention to outcome — and how they bring others along in that pursuit.

03

People Leadership

The ability to attract, develop, and retain talent. How a leader builds teams, delegates effectively, and creates conditions where people do their best work.

04

Collaboration & Influence

Cross-functional effectiveness, relationship capital, and the ability to lead without direct authority. Critical for leaders operating in matrixed or complex organizational environments.

05

Self-Awareness & Development

The degree to which a leader knows themselves — their impact, their blind spots, and their capacity to grow. Often the most revealing cluster in the entire report.

06

Communication

Clarity, presence, and the ability to tailor a message to the audience. Includes listening as much as speaking — and the courage to say hard things well.

See What a KF 360 Report Actually Looks Like

This sample report — prepared for a fictional leader named "Pat" — shows the full structure of a Korn Ferry 360 Competency Report. It includes scoring summaries, rater comparisons, individual competency breakdowns, and verbatim comments. It is the same format Amanda uses with clients.

Curious Whether This Is the Right Tool for You?

The KF 360 is not right for every leader or every moment. Amanda uses it when the timing and context are right — and she will tell you honestly if it is not the best fit. Start with a conversation.
